No. 5 Nebraska advances to Regional Finals after sweep of No. 12 Baylor

No. 5 Nebraska (16-2), playing without All-American Lauren Stivrins, dominated No. 12 Baylor (20-7) in the NCAA Tournament Regionals Sunday afternoon via a 25-21, 17, 19 sweep. Coach John Cook after the match told ESPNU that “tomorrow is a new day” and Stivrins may be available.

Nebraska is now 32-0 all-time against Baylor.

The Huskers hit .222 on the match, holding the Bears to just .141. Nebraska also notched eight aces, led by a career-high five by Lexi Sun.

Sun also led the Huskers with 12 kills on .345 hitting. Nicklin Hames, while notching 31 assists, picked up four kills on .500 hitting.

Nebraska will play the winner of No. 4 Texas and No. 13 Penn State Monday in the Regional Finals.
