Report: Husker Baseball to begin season in Texas May 5

By News Feb 12, 2021 | 8:34 PM

Midway through February and still no word from the Big Ten Conference on the baseball season, but a report Friday gives a date and location for several teams to begin their season.

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball says the Big Ten will “host an early season tournament at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX on March 5-7.” The expected to be involved are Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, and Purdue.

Rogers had previously reported that the Big Ten will be the only conference to play a league-only schedule. Big Ten softball is also beginning a league-only schedule at a southern location to take advantage of the warmer weather.

If March 5 is indeed the start date for the Huskers, the season is just 21 days away.
