April 22nd is “Take Your Child To Work”. Obviously, Friday, November 13th is NOT that day. That small detail escaped Ernest McKnight III…from Florida.
Earnest went on a crime spree over the past few weeks and felt that taking his 8-year old son was a great way to teach him the family business. And you know, there is nothing like hands-on experience, so Earnest had his son lead the way on a couple of the heists. According to the police report, father and son took part in the crimes of stealing a car, robbing houses, breaking into cars, being a porch pirate, to name a few things they did together.
And as with any criminal, they were caught.
Dad’s reason for taking his son with him, “I was trying to toughen him up…I don’t want him to be soft.”
This kind of stands to reason, as Dad was in prison 11 years ago for a laundry list of crimes.
Now, it seems, Dad will be facing, “burglary of an occupied dwelling, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, grand theft motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, petit theft” together and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He’s also facing traffic charges and a negligent child abuse charge”
As for his son, no mention if he will face any charges or just be sent home to Mom.
