The Nebraska Shrine Bowl becomes the latest sporting event in the state to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement from the Executive Board Wednesday, members were concerned about the pandemic’s impact on student-athletes’ preparations for the game. With this in mind, Executive Director Dave McDonald and the Board “concluded that the 62nd Annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl must be rescheduled to a date beyond June 6 but no later date than July 31” to safeguard not only the health of those participating, but also the “community of fans, friends, and supporters of the annual game.”

The revised date for the  will be announced after a new schedule for the weeks’ activities in the lead up to the game have been adjusted. Those activities include an all-star marching band and a game-day parade in downtown Kearney, the host city for the game.
