Nebraska men’s basketball has officially played in the final game of the 2020 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament.
After announcing Wednesday that limited attendance would be the policy for the rest of the tournament, the Big Ten Conference announced Thursday morning “that it will be canceling the remainder of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, effective immediately.”
The Conference says in the statement they will use the time to “work with the appropriate medical experts and institutional leadership” on a path forward regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACC, Big 12, Big East, SEC, and Pac-12 conferences have made the same decision. They join the host of mid-major and small conferences that had previously canceled the remainder of their tournaments as well.
The NCAA joined the host of organizations Wednesday in announcing a limited attendance policy for the upcoming Men’s and Women’s NCAA Tournaments. In light of the conferences canceling their tournaments, March Madness looks to be in doubt.
